As a Dallas branding photographer, I had the opportunity to photograph several companies throughout the city, and I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference these types of branding images make for companies by helping them stand out in their market, elevating their perceived value, and helping them establish themselves as leaders in their respective fields.

For a corporate branding photography session, I like to recommend planning this session at your company’s headquarters if possible, as your office space provides more insight into your company’s brand. However, you could also plan the session in an event space, hotel, etc., and I always recommend photographing more than just individual headshots and a group photo. It’s best to take a variety of photos that include your team engaging in different ways with each other, including working together and using your products (if applicable to your business).

Your clients are looking for a company they can relate to, and that starts with your visuals. These images are a visual representation of everything great about your company and how you can make people pay attention to you and want to invest in your products/services.

What Should You Wear To A Corporate Branding Photography Session?
At your corporate branding session, not everyone has to match, but you want to make sure that you have a cohesive look as you’re presenting yourself as a single entity. How you dress for this session depends on the image that you want to convey. If you want your images to feel more relaxed and candid, you and your team can choose to wear something like button-ups, quarter zip jackets, and slacks.
On the other hand, if you want your images to feel formal, buttoned-up, and professional, I would recommend suits, ties, blazers, dresses, etc. Based on what you share with me about your company and the location for your session, I can also make recommendations on what to wear.
Corporate Branding Photography at The Adolphus Hotel for ghSMART
Here’s a behind-the-lens look at a recent corporate branding session I photographed to give you a better idea of what your corporate branding session could look like:
ghSMART, an international leadership advising and consulting firm, reached out to me and shared that they would be hosting an on-site event for their employees all over the world at the stunning Adolphus Hotel. During our consult call, they asked me to come and take photographs during the day, a mix of candid and professional shots, that they could use for different purposes for their company.
The Adolphus Hotel is a historical hotel located in Downtown Dallas, and it was a great backdrop for a corporate branding session, and fit the casual, friendly vibe they wanted for their branding photos.
The day of their shoot happened to be very dark and stormy outside, which wasn’t ideal, but at the end of the day, it wasn’t anything to worry about, as I always make sure to come prepared, equipped to handle different lighting situations both indoors and outdoors. For all of my corporate branding sessions, I always show up prepared with lights, confident posing direction, and jokes to make everyone in your office feel relaxed and like themselves, so we can get the best images possible.
For their branding session, we started by taking photos in the hotel dining room of the team enjoying lunch together, then headed to the lobby to take more photos. Overall, my goal was to make sure these images looked natural and relaxed, not overly posed or like stiff, generic corporate stock images.
Moving throughout the hotel helped to create a casual, warm vibe to the images and made the team interactions feel more candid and comfortable. The images were intended to look both professional and inviting to show off who the team is, their unique personalities, and to help their company stand out from their competitors.
