Why You Should Have a Professional Photographer at Your Upcoming Event or Party
Your upcoming event or party deserves to be thoughtfully documented! You’re putting so much time and effort into your celebration, and once the event ends, it should be more than just memories. With event party photography, you can have gorgeous photos that preserve your memories and day.
Keep reading for everything you need to know about event party photography. Plus, take a behind-the-scenes look at an epic birthday celebration in Dallas that I recently photographed.

What is Professional Event Party Photography?
Event photography candidly tells the story of your day with beautiful, high-quality images. These images convey the energy, emotions, and highlights of your event. They thoughtfully tell the story of your day from start to finish. You can hire a professional photographer for private parties, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, or family reunions. The goal is to capture the moments that matter.
Even though you’ll be working with a professional photographer, that doesn’t mean that the images you receive will be stiff or overly posed. Rather, your photographer will seamlessly blend in with your event and photograph the candid joy and natural interactions between you and your guests.
I highly recommend investing in a professional photographer for your event over having your guests take grainy images on their phones. If you want your event to last long after the day ends, professional photos of your event or party are the answer.

Why Should You Have an Event Party Photographer?
A gift to yourself and your guests
Your guests (and you) will enjoy looking at these images and reliving all of your day all over again. You’ll get to relive the magic of your celebration each time you look through your images.
Be fully present at your event or party
Your images will preserve all the big and small moments. At your celebration, you and your guests won’t want to be glued to your phone screens trying to document everything – you’ll want to be fully present. With a professional, you don’t have to worry about documenting your celebration. Rather, you can just relax and enjoy the day!
Consistency and quality with your images
You’ll receive a gallery of images that you’ll be excited to share and frame! You can share the images on social media, create wall art, put them in albums, etc.
A chance to photograph everyone together (outside of a wedding)
It’s not often that family and friends are all in one place at the same time. If you have a photographer at your event, you’ll be able to get gorgeous images of everyone together that are unposed, natural, and genuine!

Dallas Event Party Photography 60’s Themed 60th Birthday
I had the chance to photograph a super fun 60’s-themed 60th birthday in Highland Park, Dallas! This event had lots of cool details and groovy costumes that I wanted to photograph, including the elaborately decorated main entryway, the cake, and all of the guests.
I love that all the guests could fully experience the birthday party and know that behind-the-scenes I was working with my camera to document everything. The guests didn’t have to worry about taking out their cameras to photograph the event, and they could just enjoy being fully present and celebrating. Having professional photos of your event is also a great gift for your guests!
For me, these images aren’t just something “nice” for you to have; they are a collection of images to add to your albums and make a beautiful family heirloom.

Your FAQ’s About Event Party Photography Answered
What types of images will we get back from our event or party?
When we work together, you’ll receive a gallery with detail shots, close-up candids, candid, natural interactions, and posed images. If there are specific images you want, such as individual images or a large group photo, we can discuss this before your event.
I always communicate beforehand with clients about their shot list! A comprehensive brief before your event will elevate it, taking your images from good to outstanding.
What should we do with our images from our event or party?
I highly recommend printing your images or putting them in an album. You could even make a photo book. These beautiful, professional images deserve to be put in the spotlight, which is why I also love to recommend making your images into wall art!
What should you expect from working with a professional event photographer?
When working with a seasoned professional, there are a few things that you should expect. The first is excellent communication. Your photographer should be diligent about communicating with you even before your event happens.
You should also expect that your photographer will be adaptable to any situation that may arise. Difficult lighting? Lots of movement? A change in plans? They should know how to handle these types of situations with confidence and still deliver you incredible images.
Lastly, your photographer should be a personable and friendly presence at your event! You want to work with someone who puts you and your guests at ease and who is warm and inviting – this is how you’ll get the best images possible.
How long until we get our images delivered?
The answer and timeline depend on your photographer. If we work together, you’ll get preview photos in up to 48 hours, and your images will be delivered in 1 week.
